US President Joe Biden discussed with Finnish President Sauli Niiniste the situation in the Ukraine region and security issues in Northern Europe.
This is reported by UA with reference to the White House website.
“The leaders of both countries discussed the general concern about the unprovoked buildup of Russian forces near the border with Ukraine” – the report said.
Biden and Niiniste also talked about the importance of Finland’s close partnership with the US and NATO to guarantee security in northern Europe.
“Biden recalled the right of Finland and other European countries to independently choose which security agreements to participate in” – the White House notes.
To remind, the US government and people support Ukraine in confronting Russian aggression. The states will continue to help with weapons, as well as develop other areas of Ukrainian-American relations.
