Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova told new details about the visit of Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the United States of America. According to her, the preparation of the meeting is entering the home stretch, UA informs.
The ambassador noted that during two days in Washington, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and the head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak held a number of productive meetings with American senators, and representatives of the leading information and analytical centers in Washington D.C.
“Our goal is to deepen the strategic partnership of Ukraine and the United States with real concrete joint initiatives to protect sovereignty and territorial integrity, enhance security in Ukraine and the region, increase our defense capacity, accelerate the transformation of Ukraine into a modern, economically strong democratic country” – the diplomat said.
Now, according to Markarova, the countries are entering the three-week period of “quiet diplomacy”.
“Together with our American partners, we will work on the implementation of the discussed concrete plans for the meeting of the leaders of Ukraine and the USA. We go to the finish line of preparation for the visit number one” – the ambassador noted.
To remind, meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and the United States in Washington D.C. is scheduled for August 30.
