The situation on the line of contact in Donbas is extremely unstable.
This was stated by the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office in Ukraine, Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen, UA reports.
He stressed that recently representatives of illegal armed groups have been obstructing the work of mission members, and the number of ceasefire violations per day has increased significantly. On November 23 alone, observers recorded 748 ceasefire violations in Donbas. There were 376 shellings in the Donetsk region and 372 in the Luhansk region.
“The security situation along the line of contact is extremely unstable. The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission reports damage to residential buildings and infrastructure caused by heavy weapons on both sides of the line of contact. The deadlock over security guarantees has become a serious problem for activities along the line of contact and complicates the lives of civilians, as well as the work of the SMM” – he said.
To remind, the EU provides 3.5 million euros in aid to victims of Russian aggression.
