Today, February 26, Paris will host talks between political advisers to the leaders of the “Normandy Four”. For the first time in a long time the meeting will be in face-to-face format. Representatives of Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia will gather in Paris to discuss a solution to the situation in Donetsk region.
This was reported by UA.
Some media outlets have begun to speculate that advisers may agree on a date for Ukraine’s talks with illegal armed groups. But Kyiv has a categorical answer to this – there will be no direct talks. This was announced on Facebook by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, who will represent the Ukrainian side at the talks in Paris.
“Ukraine’s position, which has been expressed many times at various levels, is unchanged, it is in Ukraine’s interests. There have not been and will not be any direct talks with the separatists. And such fabrications appear thanks to manipulators who have tried many times to create “betrayal” on an equal footing: in the ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners, the work of the TCG” – Yermak wrote.
To remind, the Kremlin has invented and is actively dispersing a new propaganda narrative. They claim that Russia is not drawing troops to the Ukrainian borders, and Kyiv is preparing provocations in Donbas. In addition, in February, the Council of the State Duma of Russia will consider an appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the occupation administrations in certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions (ORDLO).
