Countries that adhered to a neutral position, after Russia started a war in Europe, decided that security could only be ensured by a strong bloc, which is NATO. Having started a war against Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin achieved completely opposite results. Diplomat and international affairs expert Ruslan Osipenko spoke about this on the FREEDOM TV channel, commenting on Sweden’s entry into the Alliance.

He explained how important it is from a geopolitical point of view to add another full member to the North Atlantic Alliance – Sweden.

“From the point of view of the Western world, this is a strengthening of the Alliance, from the point of view of the pro-Chinese bloc, they believe that the Western world is strengthening its security at their expense. China thinks so. And just Li Hui’s latest statements that Russia’s interests should be taken into account meant that Russia is already a proxy of China, China views Russia as part of its zone of influence and, if you take influence from China, from its zone influence, then this is wrong. Therefore, China and its bloc, its proxies are unhappy,” Osipenko said.

But, the diplomat clarified, NATO is strengthening and will continue to strengthen.

“NATO, firstly, now understands that it is the only bloc that can resist the Russian-Chinese alliance. Because the combined potential of these countries is so great that individually no country can resist, even the strongest, the same France or Germany, which are the leaders of the European Union and strong members of NATO, but individually they are not able to resist this alliance. Therefore, the NATO bloc and ties within it will strengthen, it has the prospect of adding a 33rd member,” Osipenko noted.
