The North Atlantic Alliance is closely monitoring the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border and is ready to respond to any changes.
This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on HBO TV channel, UA reports with reference to Interfax.
“We are closely watching the unusual movements of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine” – he said.

Stoltenberg noted that the alliance is ready “for any development of the situation”.
The Secretary General acknowledged that Ukraine is disappointed that the earlier promise to join the NATO Membership Action Plan for protection against Russia has not yet been fulfilled.
