Kyiv found itself in a difficult economic situation due to rising energy prices. At the same time, they will not increase the price in the city until the end of the heating season.
This is reported by UA with reference to the Telegram channel of the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko.
As a result of rising energy prices, the city authorities reimbursed more than UAH 2 billion from the capital’s budget to avoid raising tariffs for heating and hot water.
“That is, we are faced with a choice – either to increase the figures in utility bills, or to increase the fare. Because we can’t use the entire budget of the capital only on subsidies” – Klitschko said.
Despite the fact that the issue of prices in Kyiv has been brought up for discussion, a revision of tariffs should not be expected until the end of the heating season.
“At the same time, I understand how sensitive the issue of fares is for Kyiv residents. And I will note that it is currently submitted only for discussion. This is a project, not a decision!” – said the mayor of the capital.
