Special Monitoring Mission of Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE SMM) has published its annual “2021 Trends and observations from the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine” report, as UA informs.
Over the last year, almost 94,000 ceasefire violations were observed, including:
- 1,133 explosions attributable to fire from MLRS, artillery, mortars, and tanks
- 851 freedom of movement restrictions
- 1,892 weapons in violation of withdrawal lines
- 2,386 instances of signal interference
- 91 civilian casualties

July 27, 2020, the agreement on the establishment of a full and comprehensive ceasefire in the Donbas came into force. The relative truce was observed by the end of 2020, while in April 2021 and November 2021 – February 2022, situation at the Ukrainian-Russian border escalated as Kremlin gathered part of its armed forces and weaponry near its border.
