Facebook is investigating all applications which had access to a large amount of information in the past. This is according to the company’s co-founder Mark Zuckerberg. During his testimony to the US Congress, Zuckerberg apologized for user data leak and admitted his mistake. He stated that the company didn’t do enough to prevent fake news, foreign interference in elections, hate speech, and ensure data privacy.

The hearing in the US Congress was dedicated to the leak of personal data of Facebook users. As a result of it, British company Cambridge Analytic has received information on 87 million people, without their knowledge. Allegedly, this data was used by the campaign staff of the US president Donald Trump in order to influence the result of the 2016 election.
