President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for the first batch of Mirage 2000 fighter jets delivered to Ukraine.
Zelensky made the statement via X, Ukrinform reports.
“Ukraine’s air fleet continues to develop. The first Mirage 2000 jets from France have arrived, adding to our air defense capabilities. I thank Emmanuel Macron for his leadership and support—France’s president keeps his word, and we appreciate it. This is another step in strengthening Ukraine’s security,” Zelenskyy noted.
According to the Ukrainian president, thanks to the latest deliveries, Ukraine continues to expand its F-16 fleet, with the Netherlands fulfilling its commitments to support this effort.
The president expressed gratitude to “everyone who helps and contributes” to this end.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the first French Mirage 2000 fighter jets arrived in Ukraine, manned by Ukrainian pilots, who had undergone several months of training in France.
