President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says that the first steps towards a lasting peace in Ukraine could be the release of prisoners, an immediate ceasefire in the sky and at sea, provided that Russia does the same.

The head of state wrote about this in social network X (Twitter)

“We are ready to work quickly to end the war, and the first steps can be the release of prisoners, an immediate ceasefire in the sky: a ban on missiles, long-range drones, bombing of energy and other civilian infrastructure – and an immediate ceasefire at sea, if Russia does the same. Then we want to move very quickly through all the next steps and work with the United States to agree on a strong final agreement.”

French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer proposed a one-month ceasefire in Ukraine: “in the air, at sea and in energy”.
