President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about joint Ukrainian-French weapons production projects.
This was revealed in his video address.
According to Zelenskyy, these projects are already being worked on at the ministerial level.
“The Danish model is already in place, where partner governments are attracting investments in weapons production, and the new French model is viewed as an opportunity to attract investments in creating entirely new production facilities,” he stated.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine expects positive outcomes from this, calling it a “personal task for the Minister of Defense,” while the Ministry of Strategic Industries has the responsibility to “ensure the implementation of all agreements.”
He also mentioned that, over the past week, Ukraine secured new agreements on weapons, which include not only deliveries but also production.
It is worth noting that Zelenskyy recently discussed joint weapons production with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.
Separately, Zelenskyy thanked Macron for training and equipping the Ukrainian Anna Kyivska Brigade, whose training site the French leader recently visited.
Additionally, after the meeting with Macron, Zelenskyy confirmed that there were no discussions of a “ceasefire” during their talks.
He also presented Macron with his “Victory Plan,” raised the issue of ammunition supplies, and discussed lifting restrictions on Ukraine’s use of long-range Western weapons, as well as securing funding to enable Ukraine to produce more of its own combat drones.
