The President of Ukraine became the first foreign guest 10 Downing Street hosted since Keir Starmer had taken office as prime minister.
This was reported by BBC journalist Will Vernon on X on July 19.
He also addressed the British government at a Cabinet meeting, becoming the first person to do so since U.S. President Bill Clinton in 1997.
According to BBC, President Zelenskyy appealed to Keir Starmer to “show leadership” by assisting in lifting restrictions on how Ukraine will further use Western weapons.
On July 18, Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended European Political Community Summit in Woodstock, UK, and met His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and representatives of British defence enterprises.
