Office of the permanent “Crimean Platform” will be formed in Ukraine, the specialists of which will deal with the issues of the occupied peninsula and the Crimean people. The head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced it during a press conference at the Antonov plant, the correspondent of the UATV reports.

“It is very important that by the end of the 7th year of the war and the illegal annexation of the Crimean peninsula, the first serious platform for the de-occupation of Crimea will start its work. It is not just an invitation to a summit where we will declaratively sign something. We will open the Office of the Permanent Crimean Platform. There will be professional people, lawyers, economists, humanitarian specialists, who will deal with the issues of the occupied Crimea and the issues of people in prisons of Crimea and the Russian Federation who should receive humanitarian help”, – the president emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy pointed out that this is a serious risk for the countries that support and join the Crimean Platform.

“This is a serious risk for all countries that will come to us due to complications, due to the creation of a platform, relations with the Russian Federation. Russia reacts toughly and doesn’t perceive the Crimean platform”, – the head of state said.

As for the list of countries that will take part in the initiative, according to Zelenskyy, it will be presented in detail during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence.

The head of state also noted that before the launch of the platform in Ukraine, a number of important legislative initiatives on Crimea are planned to be adopted.

“We want to sign important laws. I believe that they will be supported by the Verkhovna Rada. Laws for Crimea, Crimean Tatars, for the indigenous population, for many Crimeans. I plan to do it before the start of the Crimean Platform”, – the president of Ukraine said.

Zelenskyy also said that provision of residents of the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions with the passports of Russia is the first step towards annexation.
