The tour of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky around Europe is a signal for Russia that Ukraine is not alone and will build up its military power. Such an opinion on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel was expressed by international political scientist Taras Semenyuk.
Zelensky’s speech in the British Parliament, according to the political scientist, testifies to the unification of the English politicians around the Ukrainian state.
“Speaking to politicians in Britain is very important, of course. And this speaks of the unification of the entire British political community around Ukraine. And this means that one of our biggest allies, Great Britain, remains and will support Ukraine further in this difficult period of our history. Especially now, against the background of the growing aggression of the Russian Federation on the fronts in the east. And against the backdrop of all these messages that Russia has assembled a very large group for a second strike. Therefore, it is very important,” Semenyuk said.
He also stressed that the president was traveling not only to speak, but to bring from the UK a very important weapon that would help repulse the attack and go on the counteroffensive.
“I’m talking about aviation, about tanks. This is what we call offensive weapons and we understand that without Britain and without our allies, it is very difficult for us to return the temporarily occupied territories. Therefore, this mini-tour, one might even say so, of the President of Ukraine in Europe is very important: it is also a signal to Russia that Ukraine is not alone, Ukraine will increase its power. And this power, of course, will have its results,” the political scientist said.
According to him, today Europe believes in the victory of Ukraine and the defeat of Russia. And Kyiv will continue to dictate the security model, he is sure.
“If we are given weapons, if the politicians of European countries make such difficult decisions, it means that they believe in the victory of Ukraine and the defeat of Russia. There is no other way out. The security model will be new. And Ukraine will set these trends, because the old security model has exhausted itself,” Taras Semenyuk summed up.
Earlier, on February 8, Zelensky arrived in the UK. The President of Ukraine met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, addressed parliamentarians and held a meeting with King Charles III. Then Zelensky arrived in Paris.
