The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska during a visit to Finland stated that she believes in further support for Ukraine from the side of Europe.
As Ukrinform reported, about this she said in an interview with Yle.
“We see that European countries continue to support us both at the political level and at the level of civil society. Fortunately, we live in a modern society where the information field is very wide, you can receive information from a multitude of countries, and we see that we are supported,” – noted Zelenska.
She called the visit to Finland a “huge sign of support,” noting that during the trip she felt that “Finland is the best friend of Ukraine, which shares the struggle of the Ukrainian people.”
To the question about whether she believes that Europe will support Ukraine, the First Lady answered affirmatively.
“I really hope that the majority of people still understand what price Ukraine is paying. People are losing their lives. No one wants the end of this war more than Ukrainians,” – she said.
Zelenska reported about “wonderful relations” with the President of Finland Alexander Stubb and his wife Suzanne Innes-Stubb, announcing a meeting in Kyiv with the Finnish First Lady in autumn.
“We are both active wives of current presidents. We have many plans for the future. We are already planning a meeting in Kyiv in September,” – said Zelenska.
The First Lady of Ukraine called the most terrible phenomenon of the war the kidnapped Ukrainian children by Russia. According to her, the problem also lies in the fact that Russia does not share any information about the children. Orphaned children may completely disappear from the field of view because in Russia their names are Russified. If a name enters the Russian registry according to the Russian spelling, finding the child by name becomes impossible.
Zelenska met with Ukrainian children who returned from RF. They said that they were taught that Ukraine does not exist.
“This is psychologically very dangerous. We are losing children this way,” – emphasized Zelenska.
As reported, on March 18, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy together with the First Lady arrived with an official [visit] to Finland.
On March 19, the wife of the President of Ukraine Olena Zelenska and the First Lady of Finland Suzanne Innes-Stubb discussed the restoration of shelters for schools and the reform of the school nutrition system.
