Yulia Levchenko Sets High Jump Record for Ukraine at Europe – USA Match

Ukrainian athlete  Yulia Levchenko won the high jump competition in the Europe-USA match. Representing the European team, the athlete set a new youth record for Ukraine, overcoming a height of 2.02 meters.

Second place in the high jump competition was taken by fellow Ukrainian Irina Gerashchenko, who jumped to the height of 1.98 meters.

Ukrainian Anna Ryzhikova won the 400 m hurdles race, showed a time of 55.32 s, ahead of the current European champion, Leo Sprunger of Switzerland.

Ukrainian Olga Lyakhova took second place in the 800 meters race. Marina Beh-Romanchuk also took second place in the long jump.

The Europe-U.S. match was the last major tournament ahead of the World Athletics Championships, which kicks off on Sep. 27 in Doha.  As a result of two days of competition, the European team scored 724.5 points and defeated the United States, which scored 601.5 points.
