The Ukrainian Government is implementing a Youth Mobility Program to help young persons travel around Ukraine and to experience the different regions and specific cultures they may have.

“Government engages in creating conditions to make the youth vibrant and independent. We want to overcome a situation when almost above 50% of young people haven’t traveled outside their region in the last three years. Mobility has a positive impact on both the economy and labor productivity,” said Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk.

He added that such a program would encourage awareness of the diversity of regions and the development of civil society organizations.

In the first stage, the legal framework and concepts of the Youth Mobility Program will be developed. In April 2020, pilot projects will be launched between several regions of Ukraine.

This program, which is being designed to increase youth’s independence, resilience and capacity, is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2020.
