{"id":833401,"date":"2023-11-29T18:14:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-29T16:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=833401"},"modified":"2023-11-29T18:24:50","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T16:24:50","slug":"poland-is-sending-military-advisors-for-border-protection-to-finland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/poland-is-sending-military-advisors-for-border-protection-to-finland\/","title":{"rendered":"Poland is Sending Military Advisors for Border Protection to Finland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poland is sending its military advisors to Finland to share their experience with their Finnish counterparts regarding border protection amid an influx of illegal migrants from Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JacekSiewiera\/status\/1729589572168810969?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1729589572168810969%7Ctwgr%5E7faf1c6d159bec4752b83e253735346eefd8f92d%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eurointegration.com.ua%2Fnews%2F2023%2F11%2F29%2F7174567%2F\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;by the head of Poland&#8217;s National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Siewiera, the official request from Helsinki for allied support in protecting the Finnish-Russian border was one of the outcomes of Finnish President Sauli Niinist\u00f6&#8217;s visit to Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Poland intends to respond positively to the request of our NATO and EU ally. A team of military advisors will be dispatched to share experience in securing the border,&#8221; emphasized the head of Poland&#8217;s national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is worth noting that last week, the European Union&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thegaze.media\/news\/eu-to-send-border-guards-and-equipment-to-finland-to-strengthen-eastern-border-with-russia\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;that the EU border agency, FRONTEX, would send border guards and specialized equipment to Finland to assist in dealing with the influx of illegal migrants on the borders with Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus, at least 50 border guards and other necessary personnel and equipment, including patrol cars, were sent to the Finnish border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The support for Finland from FRONTEX goes beyond logistics; it is a demonstration of the European Union&#8217;s unified position against hybrid challenges affecting one of its members,&#8221; noted FRONTEX Executive Director Hans Leytens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recall that in November alone, over 500 asylum seekers&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thegaze.media\/news\/finland-is-sending-military-personnel-to-the-border-with-russia-to-protect-against-migrants\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">arrived<\/a>&nbsp;in Finland from the Russian border. Initially, the Finnish side decided to partially close the border with Russia and began constructing protective structures on the state border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, it became known that the Finnish government&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/yle.fi\/a\/74-20062534\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">decided<\/a>&nbsp;to block all border crossings on the border with Russia.
