The propaganda of Russia and China is synchronized. This is evidenced by the data of the German Alliance for the Defense of Democracy. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Chinese media has been broadcasting pro-Russian narratives to both domestic and international audiences. In recent weeks, they have been especially active in promoting the so-called Chinese peace plan, which was presented by Chinese President Xi Jinping on February 24, FREEDOM reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The word \u201cpeace\u201d is read by people as purely positive, because it is a universal value. Ukraine is fighting for peace on its land against the army of the aggressor, and its allies support it in this. Russia, which has unleashed a war against Ukraine, on all international platforms still accessible to it, reveals its desire for peace. But only in the Russian context does this phrase acquire an Orwellian meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThus, the concept of the perpetrator and the victim is thrown back, when first it is necessary to stop the crime, then it is necessary to bring the perpetrator to justice, and after that we can talk about some kind of reconciliation. And to replace it, a concept is proposed in which there is one side of the conflict and the other side of the conflict, which did not share something. They just need an intermediary who will be able to seat them at the table, in whom there will be trust from both sides, that he will guarantee their agreements. It is not difficult to guess why China has joined in the spread of such narratives. The complete victory of Ukraine is not beneficial for Beijing from an ideological point of view. And another chance to finally turn the economically weakening neighbor – Russia – into a raw material appendage, dependent, and, therefore, obedient. At the heart of China’s peace plan is the so-called “respect for the just fear of all parties.” Which means accepting at least part of the claims of the aggressor country. The list of countries that supported the initiative is also indicative: in addition to Russia, these are Hungary, Belarus and Kazakhstan. According to experts, allegedly \u201cpeaceful\u201d statements by the leaders of these countries are aimed primarily at obtaining domestic and foreign political benefits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRecently, representatives of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the States are supplying weapons to Taiwan. Why can’t we supply arms to Russia then? That is, de facto, in this situation, they are engaged in blackmailing the United States so that they reduce the amount of support for Taiwan. That is, on the one hand, China is looking for an excuse for its own actions and is trying in this situation to present itself as a peacemaker. And on the other hand, China is really interested in supporting the Putin regime, from which they are now receiving cheap resources, \u201dsays international politics expert Petr Oleshchuk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Such initiatives no longer affect the international course of support for Ukraine. In October, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of negotiations with Vladimir Putin. Now even those who until the last believed in the diplomatic path are talking about the victory of Ukraine on the battlefield as the only possible option. Now the main real algorithm for ending Russia’s war against Ukraine is the just peace formula of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It provides for a number of concrete steps that, if implemented step by step, will be able to guarantee sustainable peace in Europe. Among them – nuclear, energy, food security, the withdrawal of Russian occupation troops from Ukraine, guarantees for Kyiv, compensation to Moscow and punishment of war criminals.
