{"id":453437,"date":"2021-11-09T12:32:32","date_gmt":"2021-11-09T10:32:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=453437"},"modified":"2021-11-09T16:00:17","modified_gmt":"2021-11-09T14:00:17","slug":"the-first-composition-of-the-ethics-council-was-formed-in-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/the-first-composition-of-the-ethics-council-was-formed-in-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"The first composition of the Ethics Council was formed in Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The first composition of the Ethics Council will establish the compliance of a candidate for the position of a member of the High Council of Justice with the criteria of professional ethics and integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is reported by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UA<\/a><\/strong> with reference to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.president.gov.ua\/en\/news\/prezident-vitaye-priznachennya-pershogo-skladu-etichnoyi-rad-71497\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of the President<\/a> of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President of Ukraine <strong>Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> hopes that the Ethics Council will begin its work as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDespite considerable resistance, we managed to embark on a critical stage of the changes I initiated in the judicial system. The formation of a respectable High Council of Justice and the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine will help restore Ukrainians&#8217; confidence in the judiciary and ensure further cleaning of the system\u201d \u2013 the head of the state said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Members of the Ethics Council are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Judge of the Supreme Court of the Court of Cassation <strong>Lev Kyshakevych<\/strong>,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal <strong>Yuriy Tryasun<\/strong>,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; retired Judge of the Eastern Commercial Court of Appeal <strong>Volodymyr Siverin<\/strong>,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; retired Massachusetts Supreme Court Judge<strong> Robert Cordy<\/strong>,&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; retired Judge of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales Sir <strong>Anthony Hooper<\/strong>,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; former Prosecutor General of the Republic of Estonia <strong>Lavly Perling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Law on the High Council of Justice, if the Chairman of the High Council of Justice does not appoint members of the Ethics Council within a specified period, the first three candidates from the list of the Council of Judges of Ukraine and the list of international and foreign organizations will be considered appointed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read also: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/a-significant-step-forward-in-the-implementation-of-justice-reform-eu-ambassador-on-the-election-of-candidates-for-the-ethics-council\/\">A significant step forward in the implementation of justice reform \u2013 EU Ambassador on the election of candidates for the Ethics Council<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first composition of the Ethics Council will establish the compliance of &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":453448,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[49,55],"tags":[78],"sources":[],"class_list":["post-453437","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en","category-ukraine-en","tag-homepage-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 -
