{"id":440048,"date":"2021-10-11T16:10:00","date_gmt":"2021-10-11T13:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=440048"},"modified":"2021-10-12T00:23:42","modified_gmt":"2021-10-11T21:23:42","slug":"ukraine-and-the-eu-to-sign-an-open-sky-agreement-at-the-summit-on-october-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/ukraine-and-the-eu-to-sign-an-open-sky-agreement-at-the-summit-on-october-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine and the EU to sign an &#8220;open sky&#8221; agreement at the summit on October 12"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Tuesday, October 12, Ukraine and the European Union will conclude an <strong>&#8220;open sky&#8221; agreement<\/strong>, which was previously signed 8 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UA<\/a> with the reference to <a href=\"https:\/\/interfax.com.ua\/news\/general\/772834.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Interfax-Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the report, the ceremony will take place within the framework of the Ukraine-EU summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThree agreements will be signed at the summit. The first is <strong>an agreement on a joint aviation space<\/strong>, which, in simple terms, will improve communication between the two sides and create conditions for new commercial opportunities for the airlines of Ukraine and EU member states\u201d \u2013 the EU official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement will \u201c<strong>open up<\/strong>\u201d Ukraine for some low-cost airlines, which will increase the number of passengers and will contribute to the growth of the Ukrainian economy in the field of tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, two more agreements will be signed: <strong>on the association of Ukraine with the European research<\/strong> and innovation funding program Horizon Europe and the Creative Europe program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Negotiations on the joint aviation space of Ukraine and the EU <strong>began in 2007<\/strong>. Its launch will allow all European airlines to operate direct flights to Ukraine from anywhere in Europe and vice versa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also implies the lifting of restrictions on the number of <strong>flights between Ukraine and the EU countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The preliminary signing of the agreement on \u201copen sky\u201d<\/strong> took place back in <strong>2013<\/strong>, but the final approval was postponed due to the pending EU internal approval process on the wording of the definition of \u201cterritory\u201d in the context of the Gibraltar issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the UK left the EU, this issue was removed, and the EU promised to sign an \u201copen sky\u201d agreement as soon as it was documented that the UK is no longer a signatory to this document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To remind, Olha Stefanishyna, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, on the eve of the Ukraine-EU summit, named the main tasks that Ukraine should set: <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/ukraine-strives-for-a-common-economic-zone-with-the-eu-stefanishyna-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">strive for a joint economic space with the European Union<\/a> and full access to European markets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday, October 12, Ukraine and the European Union will conclude an &#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":440049,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[49,50],"tags":[78],"sources":[],"class_list":["post-440048","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news-en","category-svit-en","tag-homepage-en"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.2 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Ukraine and the EU to sign an &quot;open sky&quot;
