It is dedicated to the anniversary of the Ukrainian educational institution, created outside Ukraine by the Ukrainian <strong>intelligentsia <\/strong>in exile, with the Ukrainian <strong>language <\/strong>teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UA<\/a> with the reference to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bank.gov.ua\/ua\/news\/all\/pamyatna-medal-100-rokiv-ukrayinskomu-vilnomu-universitetu-vipuskayetsya-z-15-veresnya-2021-roku\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Bank of Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe <strong>Ukrainian <\/strong>Free University, having united around itself many leading Ukrainian <strong>scientists <\/strong>of the <strong>20th century<\/strong>, became a scientific and educational institution for the Ukrainian <strong>diaspora<\/strong>, which did not want to lose its identity. Having changed three <strong>European <\/strong>cities and rebuilt in post-war <strong>Munich<\/strong>, the university remains to this day the center of knowledge about Ukraine in Europe. It strives to be an intellectual <strong>bridge <\/strong>between <strong>Ukraine <\/strong>and the states of the <strong>European Union<\/strong>, is an important source of Ukrainian studies in the German-speaking environment\u201d \u2013 the National Bank of Ukraine statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <strong>National Bank<\/strong> of Ukraine, the circulation of the medal is <strong>10 thousand<\/strong> pieces, the diameter is <strong>35 <\/strong>millimeters, the material is nickel silver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The obverse of the coin, on the smooth background at the top &#8211; the inscription&#8221; Ukraine &#8220;, under which the year of issue \u2013 <strong>2021<\/strong>; the small State <strong>Emblem <\/strong>of Ukraine (on the left, on the background of a fragment of the flag of Ukraine), a fragment of the <strong>flag <\/strong>of the European Union (on the right) in the center \u2013 a <strong>diagram <\/strong>of the change in the location of the university at different time intervals and inscriptions: <strong>Vienna <\/strong>\/ 1921 \/ <strong>Prague <\/strong>\/ 1921 \/ <strong>Munich <\/strong>\/ 1945; below on a matte background &#8211; a laurel branch, under which is the logo of the Banknote Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the reverse of the medal, on a mirrored <strong>background<\/strong>, there is a university logo (above) in the <strong>center <\/strong>&#8211; a stylized image of a bridge as a symbol uniting different sides, peoples, countries, etc .; inscriptions: <strong>100 years<\/strong> (under the bridge), <strong>Ukrainian Free University<\/strong> (below in a semicircle)\u201d \u2013 is written in the description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The artists are <strong>Volodymyr Taran<\/strong>, <strong>Oleksandr Kharuk<\/strong>, <strong>Serhii Kharuk<\/strong>, the sculptor \u2013 <strong>Volodymyr Demyanenko<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ukrainian Free University was founded in <strong>Vienna <\/strong>at the beginning of <strong>1921<\/strong>, later it was decided to transfer the Ukrainian Free University to <strong>Prague<\/strong>. The grand opening in Prague took place on <strong>October 23, 1921<\/strong>. The first rector of the institution was the Ukrainian literary critic, linguist <strong>Oleksandr Kolessa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ukrainian Free University had <strong>two faculties<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>philosophy <\/strong>and <strong>law<\/strong>. During the interwar period, prominent Ukrainian scientists, statesmen and politicians <strong>Avgustyn Voloshyn<\/strong>, <strong>Dmytro Antonovych<\/strong>, <strong>Dmytro Doroshenko<\/strong>, <strong>Vadym Shcherbakivskyy<\/strong>, <strong>Ivan Borkovskyy<\/strong>, <strong>Ivan Pankevych<\/strong> were instructors of the University. After <strong>World War II<\/strong>, the Ukrainian Free University moved to <strong>Munich<\/strong>, where it continues to work today. In <strong>1999<\/strong>, the <strong>third faculty<\/strong>, Ukrainian <strong>studies<\/strong>, began to work.
