In the temporarily occupied Crimea<\/strong>, in the village of Molodizhne<\/strong>, after illegal searches<\/strong>, officers of the Russian FSB took out in an unknown direction<\/strong> a former member of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis <\/strong>in the Simferopol district, Eldar Menseitov<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was reported by the Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova<\/strong> in Telegram<\/a>, UA<\/a> writes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInvestigative actions\u201d and arrests of Menseitov<\/strong>, according to preliminary information, related to the damage <\/strong>of the gas pipeline in the village of Perevalne <\/strong>on 23 August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 18, 2021, Eldar testified <\/strong>on the side of the defense in the \u201cMustafa Dzhemilev case<\/strong>\u201d. Russia is judging him in absentia for allegedly “illegal crossing of the Russian border<\/strong>” and “illegal handling of weapons<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Ukrainian Ombudsman<\/strong>, ignoring the demand of the UN International Court of Justice<\/strong> to lift the ban on the activities of the Mejlis<\/strong>, the Russian Federation continues <\/strong>the practice of repressions against the Crimean Tatars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI demand from the Russian Federation<\/strong> to end the persecution of the indigenous people of the Crimean peninsula<\/strong> immediately, and to release all illegally detained citizens of Ukraine<\/strong>. I call on the international community to condemn such illegal actions of the occupying state and to increase the political and sanctions pressure on Russia<\/strong> to stop it gross violations <\/strong>of human rights<\/strong> on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea<\/strong>,\u201d \u2013 Denisova said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
