This amount of reserves is a record since <strong>April 2012<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is reported by <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UA<\/a> with reference to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bank.gov.ua\/en\/news\/all\/mijnarodni-rezervi-zrosli-do-316-mlrd-dol-ssha-za-pidsumkami-serpnya-syagnuvshi-devyatirichnogo-maksimumu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Bank of Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>National Bank<\/strong> notes that reserves increased by <strong>9.2%<\/strong> in August due to the receipt of funds in the amount of <strong>USD 1.92 billion<\/strong> in special drawing rights (SDRs) within the general distribution from the IMF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For most of August, the supply of <strong>foreign exchange<\/strong> in the interbank foreign exchange market prevailed over demand. This allowed the NBU to buy <strong>USD 368.8 million<\/strong>. At the same time, during August, the regulator sold <strong>USD 20.5 million<\/strong> in order to smooth out excessive fluctuations in the UAH exchange rate. In general, at the end of August, the net purchase of foreign exchange in the foreign exchange market amounted to <strong>USD 348.3 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To remind, <strong>Vice President<\/strong> of the European Commission and the European Commissioner for Trade <strong>Valdis Dombrovskis<\/strong> said that Ukraine has fulfilled all the basic conditions for receiving the second tranche of macro-financial assistance. Ukraine received <strong>USD 2.7 billion<\/strong> from the IMF on August 24.
