President Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> presented the National Legend of Ukraine award to outstanding personalities. The ceremony took place at the Mariinsky Palace in Kyiv. First lady Olena Zelenska<\/strong> also took part in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UA<\/a><\/strong> reports this with reference to the President’s Office<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the head of state, Ukrainian streets and avenues should be named in honor of talented modern figures who “live next to us and walk among us”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President introduced each of the winners. This year the award “National Legend of Ukraine” was presented to: singer, People’s Artist of Ukraine and Hero of Ukraine Sofia Yevdokymenko-Rotaru<\/strong>; poet-singer, playwright, screenwriter, People’s Artist and Hero of Ukraine Yuriy Rybchynsky<\/strong>; Director general and Artistic Director of the Pavlo Virsky<\/strong> National Honored Academic Dance Ensemble of Ukraine, People’s Artist and Hero of Ukraine Mykhailo Vantukh<\/strong>; painter, People’s Artist of Ukraine Ivan Marchuk<\/strong>; ballet dancer, choreographer, People’s Artist of Ukraine Olena<\/strong> Potapova<\/strong>; Honored Master of Sports, Honored Coach of Ukraine Oleh Blokhin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President posthumously awarded composer, People’s Artist and Hero of Ukraine Myroslav Skoryk<\/strong>. The award was presented to his wife Adriana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLooking ahead, I want to say: someone has not seen their favorite poetess, actress, musician, athlete today. This does not mean that we do not consider them legends \u2013 it means that Ukraine has hundreds of legends. All of them will be honored by Ukraine. This ceremony will take place annually. And every year, as this year, on my own behalf and on behalf of our state, I will bow and say “thank you”. To each of you\u201d \u2013 Volodymyr Zelenskyy summed up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To remind, today Volodymyr Zelenskyi took<\/a> part in the ceremony of raising the state flag of Ukraine, which took place in the geographical center of our country \u2013 the village of Marianivka of Cherkasy region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
