Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Paris on Monday, July 13.<\/p>\n

As UATV English<\/a> writes, this was reported to journalists by Dmytro Lytvyn, the Ukrainian president’s communications advisor.<\/p>\n

According to the head of state’s own social media posts, the main priority of the meetings in France will be strengthening Ukraine’s anti-ballistic defense. Zelenskyy announced a meeting in Paris at the level of leaders, national security advisors, and defense companies from countries that could join in building an anti-ballistic system.<\/p>\n

The Ukrainian president will also meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy arrived in the French capital to take part in the meeting of “Coalition of the Willing” leaders.<\/p>\n

Media had previously reported that the meeting would bring together<\/a> at least 25 heads of state or government to discuss support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Leaders of the “Coalition of the Willing” will focus on air defense cooperation, including the recently announced US plans regarding licenses to produce Patriots in Ukraine. They will also discuss the creation of a missile defense system.<\/p>\n

The meeting of “Coalition of the Willing” countries takes place today, July 13, in Paris. Leaders of more than 25 states will participate, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The main topic of discussion is protecting Ukraine from Russian ballistic missiles. Among the possible solutions being named are the transfer of additional American Patriot interceptor missiles to Kyiv and the creation of a new European air defense system involving Ukraine in production. Details of the upcoming meeting are known to FREE\u0414OM channel’s special correspondent in Europe, Vitaliy Syzov.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is already on his way to Paris. The official part of his trip will begin with a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. This will be followed by a meeting in a smaller circle than the “Coalition of the Willing” \u2014 a meeting of the new “anti-ballistic coalition.” This is a group of countries that will work on defending Ukrainian skies as effectively as possible.<\/p>\n

Last week at the NATO summit in Ankara, strengthening Ukraine’s air defense was one of the main issues. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the defense technology forum, said a European anti-ballistic system needs to be created. This issue will likely be discussed today as well.<\/p>\n

In addition, US President Donald Trump stated during the Alliance summit in Turkey that Washington is ready to hand over licenses for producing the interceptor missiles needed for Patriot systems to operate. However, setting up their production will take time. That’s why Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry and the head of state are working to obtain interceptor missiles from other countries. At the meeting in Ankara, they discussed knowing where these missiles are, which storage facilities hold them, and which countries own them. Diplomatic work is now underway to obtain them as quickly as possible. Given the US position, which states the need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, this should be easier to achieve.<\/p>\n

Today will also see a meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing” in its usual format. It will include countries working on strengthening Ukraine’s defense capability and shaping its security guarantees. These are states ready to take on a role in ensuring peace after a ceasefire \u2014 whether through military support, participation in patrolling waters, or help rebuilding infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Some countries, such as France and the United Kingdom, are ready to directly send troops to Ukrainian territory. Other states are taking on tasks like patrolling the Black Sea waters and conducting demining. This dialogue continues, forming the basis for joint action.<\/p>\n

In the evening, a formal dinner will be held, organized by French President Emmanuel Macron in honor of Bastille Day. A military parade is planned, in which Ukrainian servicemembers are set to take part for the first time.<\/p>\n

For Ukraine, the priority remains strengthening its defense, above all air defense. That’s why Paris talks will focus on ways to reinforce Ukrainian air defense, supply it with ammunition, and provide the missiles needed for Patriot systems. The results of the meeting are expected to be announced in the evening at a joint press conference featuring Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said<\/a> that Ukraine, together with its partners, must deprive Russia of the ability to terrorize cities, protect people’s lives, and make Moscow understand that terror will never bring it victory.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy is also expected to attend the Bastille Day military parade on Tuesday, in which Ukrainian servicemembers will take part.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, more than 30 member countries of the “Coalition of the Willing,” following the meeting on February 24, confirmed their role in providing multi-layered security guarantees for Ukraine with US support.<\/p>\n
