The active phase of Russia’s war against Ukraine could come to an end later this year, although combat is likely to intensify before negotiations resume, Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR), said, UATV English <\/a>reports.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the prospects for ending the war, Budanov stressed that Ukraine will not agree to any territorial concessions or changes to its internationally recognized borders.<\/p>\n

According to Budanov, Ukraine is working toward its own victory, but the form that victory ultimately takes will depend largely on the Ukrainian people.<\/p>\n

The intelligence chief also ruled out the possibility of accepting ultimatums from Russia.<\/p>\n

\u201cUkraine will not accept any ultimatums. The only side that has tried to dictate such conditions is Moscow, but Kyiv rejected them and has no intention of agreeing to such demands in the future,\u201d Budanov said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump, Budanov said Trump respects winners, making it important for Ukraine to continue demonstrating success on the battlefield.<\/p>\n
