{"id":1393059,"date":"2026-06-22T16:44:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-22T13:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1393059"},"modified":"2026-06-22T16:12:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-22T13:12:08","slug":"britain-successfully-tests-new-missiles-it-plans-to-provide-to-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/britain-successfully-tests-new-missiles-it-plans-to-provide-to-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Britain Successfully Tests New Missiles It Plans to Provide to Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":" <p>The United Kingdom has conducted the first successful tests of new long-range missiles that it plans to eventually supply to Ukraine.<\/p>\n   <p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/\">UATV English<\/a>, this was reported by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2026\/06\/20\/britain-tests-long-range-missiles-ukraine-bomb-moscow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Telegraph<\/a>.<\/p>\n   <p>&#8220;New systems that can attack targets more than 300 miles away have been tested at a range in the Hebrides, with further trials taking place in the UK over the coming months,&#8221; the report said.<\/p>\n   <p>These experimental systems, each carrying a 250-kilogram warhead, could potentially reach Moscow if launched from Ukrainian territory. The project is part of Britain&#8217;s Brakestop program, which aims to develop relatively low-cost long-range weapons for Ukraine.<\/p>\n   <p>The second phase of the Brakestop project is currently underway. Companies involved have received additional contracts worth around \u00a315 million for further development of the systems. British officials hope to deliver the first of these new systems to Kyiv within a year.<\/p>\n   <p>Louise Jones, the new Minister for the Armed Forces, said the weapon would &#8220;complement&#8221; other systems such as Storm Shadow missiles, which allow Ukraine to strike deep inside Russian territory but are more expensive.<\/p>\n   <p>&#8220;The UK stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Ukraine, and we will continue to provide the support it needs to defend itself against Russian aggression,&#8221;
