{"id":1390223,"date":"2026-06-18T09:03:00","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T06:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1390223"},"modified":"2026-06-17T11:26:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T08:26:07","slug":"ukraine-and-germany-to-jointly-develop-the-freyja-anti-ballistic-defense-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/ukraine-and-germany-to-jointly-develop-the-freyja-anti-ballistic-defense-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine and Germany to Jointly Develop the FREYJA Anti-Ballistic Defense System"},"content":{"rendered":" <p>German defense company Hensoldt and Ukrainian defense manufacturer Fire Point have signed a memorandum of understanding on the joint integration of components into the FREYJA ground-based air defense system, designed to detect and intercept ballistic missiles.<\/p>\n   <p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/\">UATV English<\/a>, citing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hensoldt.net\/de\/news\/hensoldt-and-fire-point-announce-strategic-partnership-for-system-for-ballistic-missile-defence-freyja\">Hensoldt<\/a> press release, the agreement was signed during the Eurosatory defense exhibition in Paris.<\/p>\n    <blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cHensoldt and Fire Point \u2014 a leading Ukrainian defense company that develops and manufactures combat UAVs and missile systems for modern precision warfare \u2014 signed a memorandum of intent at the Eurosatory exhibition in Paris. The goal of the agreement is the joint integration of combat-proven and available components into a ground-based air defense system capable of detecting and intercepting ballistic missiles,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n   <p>Under the agreement, Hensoldt will be responsible for the production, testing, and delivery of radar systems for the missile defense system and will support their integration into the overall complex.<\/p>\n   <p>A key component of the system will be the TRML-4D radar, which the company says has \u201cproven its effectiveness in operational use in recent years\u201d and, thanks to its software adaptability, is \u201cideally suited for the planned missile defense role.\u201d<\/p>\n   <p>For its part, Fire Point will serve as the prime contractor for the project and bear overall responsibility for the FREYJA system concept. The Ukrainian company will manufacture, test, and supply FP-7 missiles, launchers, and command-and-control systems, while also integrating the core components into a unified system.<\/p>\n    <blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cCooperation with Fire Point within the FREYJA project is an important step toward a scalable European contribution to ballistic missile defense. Ukraine has demonstrated how quickly innovation can emerge under real operational pressure.
