{"id":1389367,"date":"2026-06-15T22:04:59","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T19:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1389367"},"modified":"2026-06-15T22:05:06","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T19:05:06","slug":"marta-kos-after-the-opening-of-ukraine-s-eu-accession-negotiations-it-was-a-mega-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/marta-kos-after-the-opening-of-ukraine-s-eu-accession-negotiations-it-was-a-mega-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"Marta Kos after the opening of Ukraine\u2019s EU accession negotiations: \u201cIt was a mega Monday\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":" <p>Marta Kos said that the decision to launch accession negotiations with Ukraine was a long-awaited and highly significant step for the European Union, <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/\">UATV English<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n   <p>Speaking at a briefing after the formal opening of the first negotiation cluster, Kos stressed that the decision was adopted unanimously and that there was no need to repeat the events of 2023, when Viktor Orb\u00e1n famously \u201cwent out for a coffee\u201d during the vote.<\/p>\n    <blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThis time, nobody had to leave the room for coffee,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n   <p>Kos emphasized that the decision had been eagerly awaited by all EU member states.<\/p>\n    <blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWe have all been waiting for this for a long time,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n   <p>The Enlargement Commissioner also voiced support for Ukraine opening all remaining negotiation clusters in July and hinted that a tentative date may already have been agreed upon.<\/p>\n    <blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cFor me, today is a mega Monday.
