{"id":1385709,"date":"2026-06-09T18:13:57","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T15:13:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1385709"},"modified":"2026-06-09T18:14:03","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T15:14:03","slug":"zelenskyy-on-his-letters-to-putin-and-trump-i-got-the-result-i-needed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/zelenskyy-on-his-letters-to-putin-and-trump-i-got-the-result-i-needed\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelenskyy on His Letters to Putin and Trump: \u201cI Got the Result I Needed\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":" <p>Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that his letters to U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin produced concrete results, <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/\">UATV English<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n   <p>Speaking at a press conference following the Nordic-Baltic leaders\u2019 summit, Zelenskyy was asked about his open letter to Putin proposing direct negotiations and what he hoped to achieve through the initiative.<\/p>\n   <p>The Ukrainian president replied that over the course of one month he had sent several letters to different institutions, including the European Union, the U.S. Congress, President Trump, and Putin.<\/p>\n   <p>He explained that his message to the United States was intended to draw Washington\u2019s attention back to the war in Ukraine and, in particular, to Ukraine\u2019s shortage of air-defense systems.<\/p>\n   <p>\u201cI had different objectives. For example, when writing to the United States, I genuinely wanted to do everything possible to shift their focus, at least a little, from the Middle East to the situation in Ukraine.
