{"id":1348805,"date":"2026-04-15T13:40:27","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T10:40:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1348805"},"modified":"2026-04-15T16:02:06","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T13:02:06","slug":"injured-freedom-journalist-oleksandr-kolychev-to-receive-state-compensation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/injured-freedom-journalist-oleksandr-kolychev-to-receive-state-compensation\/","title":{"rendered":"Injured FREE\u0414\u041e\u041c journalist Oleksandr Kolychev to receive state compensation"},"content":{"rendered":" <p><a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/uk\/\">FREE\u0414\u041e\u041c<\/a> correspondent <strong>Oleksandr Kolychev<\/strong>, who was seriously wounded while carrying out his professional duties during a Russian strike on Kramatorsk, will receive one-time financial assistance from the state.<\/p>\n   <p>The payment is provided within the framework of state support for media workers affected by Russian aggression and amounts to 50 subsistence minimums in accordance with Ukrainian legislation.<\/p>\n   <p>Kolychev was <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/uk\/poranennya-buly-smertelnymy-ale-vin-vyzhyv-istoriya-korespondenta-freedom-yakyj-opynyvsya-pid-udarom-lantseta-video\/\">injured<\/a> on October 23, 2025, when a Russian Lancet drone struck a vehicle carrying a FREE\u0414\u041e\u041c film crew at the site of a previous attack. The strike <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/russia-s-drone-strike-kills-ukrainian-journalists-covering-war-near-front-lines\/\">killed<\/a> war correspondent <strong>Olena Hramova<\/strong> and cameraman <strong>Yevhen Karmazin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n   <p>The journalist sustained multiple shrapnel wounds, fractures, and burns, underwent several surgeries, and spent a long time in critical condition. He is now undergoing a complex rehabilitation process and gradually returning to daily life.<\/p>\n   <p>Since the beginning of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the team had been covering events in the Donetsk region, documenting war crimes and reporting on Ukrainian defenders.<\/p>\n   <p>The attack in Kramatorsk became one of the most high-profile crimes against media workers during the war. Ukrainian prosecutors are investigating the killing and injuries of the crew as a war crime.<\/p>\n   <p>The decision to grant financial aid <a href=\"https:\/\/comin.gov.ua\/news\/mizhvidomcha-komisiia-ukhvalyla-rishennia-pro-vyplatu-odnorazovoi-hroshovoi-dopomohy-poranenomu-zhurnalistu-oleksandru-kolychevu\">was made<\/a> by an interagency commission involving representatives of government institutions and media organizations.<\/p>\n   <p>Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy <a href=\"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/uk\/prezydent-vidznachyv-derzhavnymy-nagorodamy-zhurnalistiv-ukrayinskogo-inomovlennya-alonu-gramovu-yevgena-karmazina-ta-oleksandra-kolycheva\/\">awarded<\/a> Hramova, Karmazin, and Kolychev state honors for their contribution to defending truth and freedom of speech.
