Ukraine has allocated a new location for the construction of a Rheinmetall ammunition plant<\/strong>, paving the way for the project to begin in the near future, according to Armin Papperger<\/strong>, CEO of the German defense company Rheinmetall\u00a0UATV English<\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an interview to a press, Papperger said that although the search for a suitable site had previously delayed the project, the issue has now been resolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cAlthough the search for an appropriate location was delayed, a site has now been allocated to us. There are still organizational and regulatory issues that need to be clarified, but we are ready to begin construction of the facility as quickly as possible,\u201d Papperger said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He confirmed that Rheinmetall has already received orders to supply Ukraine with equipment for the ammunition plant<\/strong> and is fulfilling those commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commenting on Ukraine\u2019s reaction to Rheinmetall\u2019s proposal to localize armored vehicle production<\/strong> in the country, Papperger said the idea has generated \u201csignificant interest.\u201d<\/strong> However, he noted that such a project would require substantial local investment and secured financing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, cooperation between Ukraine and Rheinmetall is progressing well, the CEO said. The partnership covers a wide range of areas, including artillery ammunition, infantry fighting vehicles, air defense systems, space-based reconnaissance, and mobile field hospitals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are grateful to be such an important industrial partner for the country\u2019s armed forces across many different areas,\u201d Papperger emphasized.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

As previously reported, Rheinmetall announced in November that the launch of the ammunition plant \u2014 which had been expected to begin operations by that time \u2014 was postponed after the Ukrainian side requested a change in the plant\u2019s location<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
