Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said Russian forces are conducting offensive operations along almost the entire line of contact, with the number of daily clashes on some days reaching up to 300 \u2014 the highest level since the start of the full-scale war,\u00a0UATV English<\/a>\u00a0reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Syrskyi\u2019s statement on social media following a meeting on the Armed Forces\u2019 performance over the past month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe operational situation remains difficult. The enemy is carrying out offensive actions practically along the entire line of combat contact.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On some days, the number of combat engagements reaches 300 \u2014 the highest since the beginning of the war. However, the Ukrainian army is holding back the pressure, disrupting the Kremlin\u2019s plans, and continues to apply an active defense tactic effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Syrskyi, the size of the Russian grouping has for some time stood at around 710,000 personnel. Despite active recruitment efforts in Russia, the enemy has failed to increase this number, as Ukrainian forces are inflicting daily losses of about 1,000 Russian troops killed and wounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Commander-in-Chief noted that in November, at the cost of massive losses, Russian forces managed to seize control of some Ukrainian territory. However, claims by Russian propaganda about the pace of their advance do not reflect reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMoreover, in some key areas we are conducting our own active operations and clearing settlements of the enemy. In particular, active fighting continues in the Pokrovsk\u2013Myrnohrad agglomeration. In Pokrovsk itself, over the past few weeks we have managed to regain control of about 16 square kilometers in the northern part of the city. Logistics to Myrnohrad are difficult, but they continue. At the same time, no territorial losses have been allowed on the Kupiansk, Kostiantynivka, and Prydniprovsk operational directions,\u201d Syrskyi said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He added that the meeting also addressed issues related to fortifications and engineering works, restoring the combat capability of brigades, and analyzing the state of law and order as well as the moral and psychological condition of the troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are problematic issues. Solutions have been proposed,\u201d Syrskyi noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said he had set specific tasks for military command bodies, including stabilizing the situation in threatened areas through active defense, ensuring reinforcements for combat units, transitioning some Territorial Defense brigades to structures with an enhanced drone component, and completing the formation of the Cyber Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the end of the year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
