Ukraine, together with its international partners, is working on expanding funding for the PURL program<\/strong>, which enables the purchase of U.S. weapons<\/strong>, including air-defense systems and their missiles<\/strong>.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy<\/strong> reported this in his evening video address on Telegram,according to\u00a0UATV English<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cWhat is especially important in this program is the missiles for Patriot systems.<\/strong> Last night the Patriots performed very well \u2014 several Russian ballistic missiles were shot down. But we need significantly more capabilities, more systems, more missiles to protect lives,\u201d Zelenskyy stressed.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The President also announced that Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and the Baltic states<\/strong> decided this week to allocate another $500 million<\/strong> to the PURL program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis will significantly help us,\u201d<\/strong> he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also noted that Ukraine is preparing new deliveries of powerful air-defense systems and strengthening its aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cWe are preparing a strong agreement with France, and I am confident we will finalize it soon \u2014 a historic agreement for us.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
