oland wants to become the largest beneficiary of the SAFE<\/strong> project and ensure Ukraine\u2019s participation in the EU defense initiative, including through the creation of joint ventures on Polish territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was stated in Berlin on Friday by Poland\u2019s Deputy Minister of National Defense Pawel Zalewski<\/strong> during a joint conference with the defense ministers of the E5 countries: Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, and France<\/strong>, UATV English<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to ensure Ukraine\u2019s participation in the SAFE project \u2014 an important European instrument that, on the one hand, strengthens the foundations of European security through the development of Europe\u2019s defense industry, and on the other hand, offers practical solutions such as supplying military equipment to European countries. We want Ukraine to take part in this project,\u201d Zalewski emphasized.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that Poland has ambitions to become the largest beneficiary of SAFE<\/strong> and plans to launch a \u20ac40 billion investment program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cWe aim for this cooperation to also include Ukrainian companies. We want to develop joint ventures between Poland and Ukraine on Polish territory. This will strengthen Ukraine\u2019s defense capabilities,\u201d the Deputy Defense Minister added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He also invited his European colleagues to the next E5-format meeting in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas<\/strong> stated at a joint press conference in Berlin that Kyiv urgently needs support<\/strong>, as the cost of Russia\u2019s victory would be far higher than today\u2019s expenses to fund Ukraine\u2019s defense<\/em>.
