{"id":1234370,"date":"2025-10-13T20:28:53","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T17:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1234370"},"modified":"2025-10-13T20:28:58","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T17:28:58","slug":"zelenskyy-explains-how-the-purchase-of-tomahawks-will-be-financed-if-the-decision-is-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/zelenskyy-explains-how-the-purchase-of-tomahawks-will-be-financed-if-the-decision-is-approved\/","title":{"rendered":"Zelenskyy explains how the purchase of Tomahawks will be financed if the decision is approved"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that possible sources of funding for the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine could include the NATO PURL program, the so-called \u201cMega Deal\u201d being negotiated with the United States, and frozen Russian assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The head of state said this during a joint press briefing with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrinform.ua\/rubric-ato\/4046946-zelenskij-rozpoviv-ak-finansuvatimut-zakupivlu-tomahawk-u-razi-uhvalenna-risenna.html\"><em>Ukrinform<\/em> reports.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Answering a question about possible sources of financing for the Tomahawk purchase, Zelenskyy suggested there could be three:<br>\u201cOne option is NATO\u2019s PURL program. We are working through it, NATO is working. NATO buys various types of weapons from America with its own funds and then transfers to us what we need,\u201d Zelensky explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the second possible source of funding could be the large \u201cMega Deal\u201d with the United States, negotiations on which are still ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe second option is to purchase directly through the Mega Deal.
