President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia is afraid of the possible transfer of American Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said this in his Sunday address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zelenskyy noted that on Sunday, for the second time in two days, he had a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, Ukraine and the U.S. are now engaged in detailed cooperation to strengthen Ukrainian air defense and \u201call our defensive capabilities: Patriots above all, other systems as well, and our active actions\u2014our long-range capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe can see and hear that Russia is afraid the Americans might give us Tomahawks. That\u2019s a signal that this kind of pressure can work for peace,\u201d Zelenskyy said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe agreed with President Trump that our teams\u2014our militaries\u2014will be working on everything we discussed. This also concerns energy and gas. I\u2019m grateful. We\u2019re counting on results,\u201d the president added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday that Russia is particularly concerned about the possibility of the U.S. supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On October 11, Zelenskyy also spoke with Donald Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
