According to data from the electoral commission, cited by iDNES<\/a><\/em>, all votes have now been counted in the Czech parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final stage of vote counting, the gap between the populist ANO party led by Andrej Babi\u0161 and the ruling Together<\/em> (SPOLU) coalition further narrowed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, ANO came out on top in every region except the capital, Prague, securing 35.4% of the vote<\/strong>, which translates into 80 seats<\/strong> in the 200-member Chamber of Deputies. The governing SPOLU coalition received 23.4%<\/strong> and is expected to take 52 seats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these results, Babi\u0161\u2019s party will be unable to form a majority government<\/strong> without bringing in other political forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At an evening press conference, Andrej Babi\u0161 called ANO\u2019s victory \u201chistoric\u201d and said he wanted to form a single-party government<\/strong> with the support of the Motorists<\/em> and SPD<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Motorists<\/em> (who are considered Babi\u0161\u2019s most likely coalition partner) received 6.8%<\/strong> of the vote, amounting to 13 seats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The populist Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD)<\/em> party, also seen as a potential ally of Babi\u0161, won 7.8%<\/strong> (15 seats), while the populist-communist movement Sta\u010dilo!<\/em> (\u201cEnough!\u201d) \u2014 another possible partner \u2014 failed to enter parliament with 4.3%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mayors and Independents (STAN)<\/em> secured 11.2%<\/strong>, and the Pirate Party<\/em> received 9%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Petr Pavel stated that coalition talks<\/strong> following the parliamentary elections \u201cwill not be easy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
