Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, congratulating her on \u201ca very important victory\u201d for her party in the parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI spoke with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. I am glad to congratulate Maia on this very important victory and wish her success. These elections showed that Russia\u2019s destabilizing activities are losing, while Moldova is winning in Europe,\u201d Zelenskyy wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that Russia\u2019s subversive activities and constant disinformation did not succeed in these elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is important that Moldova was effective in defending against threats together with everyone who helped. We always support Moldova. We will continue to work together. Together, we overcome challenges and build a future in which our peoples have strong prospects in all areas\u2014security, economy, and therefore social well-being,\u201d Zelenskyy added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

French President Emmanuel Macron expressed support for Moldova following the citizens\u2019 vote, which he called \u201cdecisive.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes that the victory of the pro-European ruling party in Moldova\u2019s elections provides a valuable lesson \u201cfor everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current ruling party of Moldova, Action and Solidarity (PAS)<\/strong>, after counting 99.5% of votes in the parliamentary elections held on Sunday, surpassed the 50-percent voter support threshold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This predicts approximately 55 seats for PAS in the 101-seat parliament. It also means that Sandu\u2019s party will hold an outright majority in Moldova\u2019s new parliament\u2014despite Russia\u2019s and pro-Russian forces\u2019 overt efforts to seize power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
