Turkey considers the protection of Crimean Tatars\u2019 rights<\/strong> its historic and moral responsibility<\/strong> and will continue to support Ukraine in this effort, Turkish Defense Minister Ya\u015far G\u00fcler<\/strong> said at the Crimea Platform<\/strong> meeting, according to a Ukrinform<\/a> correspondent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cTurkey has never recognized the annexation of Crimea and we have firmly stood by this position since 2014, supporting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea. Protecting the rights of Crimean Tatars is not only a matter of foreign policy, but also our historic and moral duty,\u201d G\u00fcler stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized that Crimean Tatars are an integral part of Ukraine\u2019s multiethnic society<\/strong> and play a positive role in its development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is encouraging to see Ukraine defending the rights of our Crimean Tatar brothers and sisters. We will continue to support President Zelenskyy\u2019s commitment to the Crimean cause. Turkey will keep up its efforts in this direction,\u201d the minister added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
