{"id":1213160,"date":"2025-09-08T14:44:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-08T11:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1213160"},"modified":"2025-09-05T14:18:01","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T11:18:01","slug":"stefanchuk-european-parliament-president-discuss-strengthening-sanctions-against-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/stefanchuk-european-parliament-president-discuss-strengthening-sanctions-against-russia\/","title":{"rendered":"Stefanchuk, European Parliament president discuss strengthening sanctions against Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk met with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola to discuss the importance of intensifying sanctions against Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrinform.net\/rubric-polytics\/4033120-stefanchuk-european-parliament-president-discusses-strengthening-sanctions-against-russia.html\">According to Ukrinform<\/a>, Stefanchuk wrote this in a post on his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/stefanchuk.official\/posts\/pfbid0K9kovqXotvUsKkK2MErgJzGjLCtujCB6oAxzfx1dx5ZsK5URe9vbCxPsqjk7xVonl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Facebook<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe discussed key challenges\u2014achieving a just peace, strengthening sanctions against the aggressor, and Ukraine\u2019s continued progress toward EU and NATO membership. I emphasized that any concessions regarding territory or sovereignty are unacceptable, and that agreements must be based solely on the UN Charter and respect for international law,\u201d Stefanchuk stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that during the meeting, he \u201cinvited Roberta Metsola to visit Kyiv\u2014her first visit following re-election would be a powerful symbol of solidarity with Ukraine\u201d. \u201cWe also discussed the possibility of a joint visit to Kyiv by the speakers of G7 parliaments. Ukraine deeply values the European Parliament\u2019s active stance.
