{"id":1212373,"date":"2025-09-07T18:43:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-07T15:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1212373"},"modified":"2025-09-04T09:44:55","modified_gmt":"2025-09-04T06:44:55","slug":"yusov-russia-uses-history-as-a-tool-of-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/yusov-russia-uses-history-as-a-tool-of-war\/","title":{"rendered":"Yusov: Russia uses history as a tool of war"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following the end of active hostilities, Ukraine must remain prepared for continued Russian information and psychological operations (IPSO), which will not cease, warned Andriy Yusov, representative of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry&#8217;s Main Intelligence Directorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He spoke during an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukrinform.net\/rubric-society\/4032226-yusov-russia-uses-history-as-a-tool-of-war.html\">Ukrinform<\/a>-hosted\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Toq2Ahg01Dw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">discussion<\/a>\u00a0titled \u201cWorld War II: Memory Architecture and International Security.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yusov emphasized that future challenges will include defending Ukraine\u2019s informational, humanitarian, historical, and value-based boundaries. \u201cEven if the guns fall silent one day, the enemy is already preparing an IPSO army\u2014and that war will certainly continue,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He noted that history is frequently used as a tool of geopolitics. \u201cWhen the president of a major power posts a quote claiming Russia defeated Hitler and is therefore impossible to defeat\u2014that\u2019s historical weaponry, and it worked against us,\u201d Yusov added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He called Russia\u2019s use of history as a tool of war a major challenge for Ukraine. While Russia systematically prepared for ideological and historical warfare, Ukraine has not done so consistently since 1991. \u201cUnder Viktor Yushchenko, the ice began to break, but it was short-lived.
