Russia launched a series of overnight drone and missile attacks across Ukraine on July 24, striking major urban centers such as Odesa, Cherkasy, and Mykolaiv, according to Ukrainian authorities, as reported by The Gaze<\/a> citing United 24 Media.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the hardest-hit locations was Odesa\u2019s historic Pryvoz Market\u2014part of the city\u2019s UNESCO-protected area\u2014and a nine-story residential building that sustained significant damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine\u2019s State Emergency Service (SES) reported that several floors of the apartment block in Odesa were destroyed in the attack. At least four people were injured, and over 30 residents had to be evacuated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire crews worked to put out fires that broke out at a gas station and the Pryvoz Market. A two-story section of the market and several commercial stalls were completely destroyed before the flames were brought under control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper stated that the attack deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure, including homes, the market, and a registered architectural monument. He also warned that the damaged residential building is at risk of collapse, complicating the ongoing rescue efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Cherkasy, a missile hit residential areas, injuring seven people\u2014including one child. Emergency services quickly responded and extinguished the resulting fires. Authorities also reported that a cemetery in the Cherkasy region was hit in a separate strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv, Russian drones sparked multiple fires overnight. Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said emergency responders were active at several sites. No casualties have been reported so far, according to regional governor Vitaliy Kim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further east in Kramatorsk, a FAB-250 guided aerial bomb hit a high-rise building, setting it on fire. One child born in 2015 was killed, and five other individuals were wounded, according to local officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy strongly denounced the attacks, noting their timing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Yesterday in Istanbul, a proposal was again presented to Russia for an immediate and full ceasefire. In return, Russian forces launched strikes on residential buildings and the Pryvoz Market in Odesa, apartment blocks in Cherkasy, energy facilities in the Kharkiv region, a university gym in Zaporizhzhia, and various targets across Donetsk, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
