{"id":1188846,"date":"2025-07-21T20:34:49","date_gmt":"2025-07-21T17:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/?p=1188846"},"modified":"2025-07-21T20:34:54","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T17:34:54","slug":"uk-hits-russia-s-shadow-fleet-with-new-sanctions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uatv.ua\/en\/uk-hits-russia-s-shadow-fleet-with-new-sanctions\/","title":{"rendered":"UK Hits Russia\u2019s \u201cShadow Fleet\u201d with New Sanctions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Monday, the United Kingdom announced a new wave of sanctions against Russia aimed at limiting its revenue from oil transportation and sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was published on the UK government\u2019s official <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/uk-hammers-putins-energy-revenues-with-fresh-sanctions\">website.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UK added 135 oil tankers to its sanctions list. These vessels are part of the so-called \u201cshadow fleet\u201d used by Russia to covertly transport oil. According to the British government, the sanctioned tankers have carried $24 billion worth of Russian oil since the beginning of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the new sanctions now apply to two companies registered as owners of ships in this shadow fleet.
