The spring session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) started today, April 7. The Ukrainian issue is traditionally a priority. FREEDOM TV<\/a> channel correspondent Oleh Borisov spoke about the main topics and resolutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first day of the session was more ceremonial: opening, greeting all delegations, including the Ukrainian one. The work plan for this week was also approved. The priority is the topic of Ukrainian prisoners of war and the return of Ukrainian children illegally deported by Russia. The general collective resolution will be considered on Thursday, April 10. It will be dedicated to holding Russian dictator Vladimir Putin accountable for all the crimes committed in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the session participants will discuss sanctions against the Russian Federation, tightening pressure on Putin and his regime. PACE members will be presented with new facts about the destruction in Ukraine as a result of Russian strikes. Many issues are discussed not during meetings, but behind the scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting of the Committee on Prisoners of War, which will take place on Thursday, April 10, a correspondent of the FREEDOM TV channel will provide PACE members with information about the Russian missile strike on the building in Kyiv, where the office of the Ukrainian International Broadcasting Service is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As previously reported<\/a>, as a result of a Russian ballistic missile attack in Kyiv on the night of April 6, buildings housing the editorial offices of the state-owned Multimedia Broadcasting Platform of Ukraine suffered significant damage. In particular, the buildings that housed the editorial offices of the channels FREEDOM, Dim, UATV English, The Gaze, UATV Espa\u00f1ol, UATV Arabic, UATV Portugu\u00eas, the digital editorial office, and service departments were almost completely destroyed and rendered unusable after the\u00a0previous Russian shelling on February 12<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Ian Bratu condemned<\/a> the Russian missile attack on the capital of Ukraine, as a result of which the buildings where the editorial offices of the channels of the state enterprise \u201cMultimedia Platform of Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine\u201d were located were destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
