Hungary\u2019s main opposition leader, P\u00e9ter Magyar, head of the Tisza<\/em> party, criticized Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n\u2019s reaction to the dispute between the U.S. and Ukrainian presidents, stating that he does not want Hungary to become “the first joint Russian-American colony.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was reported by Telex.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magyar expressed his disagreement with Orb\u00e1n, who backed Donald Trump after Trump\u2019s public altercation with Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We can learn many lessons from history (\u2026) Hungary can only be a free country when it is strong. It can only be truly sovereign and democratic when it has patriotic leaders, when it is not for sale, and when it is not being looted. And after yesterday\u2019s events, this is even more important,” Magyar said during a speech in Gyula as part of his spring tour across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We do not want to be the first joint Russian-American colony. This is not what our ancestors fought for in 1848 and 1956,” he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hungarian opposition politician Ferenc Gyurcs\u00e1ny also reacted to the events in Washington, stating that Trump “revealed his true self.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Trump treated the leader of a people fighting for survival after being attacked by a murderous state in an unworthy, inhumane, and humiliating way. President Trump acted as the embodiment of human evil,” Gyurcs\u00e1ny said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n voiced support for U.S. President Donald Trump following his dispute with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has also emerged that Orb\u00e1n is threatening to block a joint EU summit statement in support of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
