Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stated he would be prepared to concede defeat after Tuesday’s vote “if it\u2019s a fair election,” AFP reports.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If I lose the election, if it’s a fair election, I’ll be the first to concede… So far, I believe they have been fair,” Trump told reporters in Florida, reiterating a caution he has used throughout his campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wearing a red cap with the slogan “Make America Great Again,” Trump repeated his prior criticism of electronic voting machines, suggesting they are less secure than paper ballots and delay the announcement of results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They spend all this money on machines… If they used paper ballots, voter ID, proof of citizenship, and one-day voting, it would all be over by 10 p.m. It\u2019s crazy,” he said to reporters in West Palm Beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added, “You know that paper is now more secure than computers? If it\u2019s paper with watermarks, you can’t… Nothing can happen to it. There\u2019s nothing you can do to cheat.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about concerns of post-election unrest and whether he would urge his supporters to avoid violence, he dismissed the question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I don\u2019t need to tell them there won\u2019t be violence. Of course, there won\u2019t be violence. My supporters aren\u2019t violent people,” Trump remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump and his wife Melania have already cast their ballots in Palm Beach, Florida. Republican vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance also voted, expressing optimism for a party victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
