The House of Representatives of Belarus has passed a bill in the first reading, which intends to amend the law on internal troops. Yes, these units will be allowed to use weapons to disperse protests.

This was reported by UA with reference to the Belarusian bureau of Radio Svoboda.

In the current version, the use of weapons is allowed if other methods and means of ensuring the implementation of law enforcement measures have proved ineffective. Now the rules for the use of weapons by internal troops will be supplemented by the following grounds – the cessation of mass riots and group violations of public order or actions aimed at the destruction and (or) destruction of property of all forms of ownership.

Weapons against women, the disabled and minors will also be expanded. For now, internal troops can only shoot at such people if they “carry out an armed or group attack.”

By the way, the British government imposed sanctions against the regime in Belarus in response to disregard for international law.
